concerto Cadenzas

edited January 2014 in General Discussion
Hi there fellow Pianists!

I'm an IB music student and I was wondering if I could get some help from you all for my Extended Essay.

I'm comparing a classical and romantic cadenza-Mozart's D minor piano
concerto (Beethoven's cadenza) and Rachmaninov's third concerto to be
specific

If anyone has played these pieces please share with me your experiences
If not please also feel free to share your opinions on cadenzas of
different musical eras. E.g how to approach a cadenza-are your
approaches different for classical to romantic cadenzas? As pianists, do
you experience more freedom in romantic/later concerto cadenzas or is
it all the same?

Anything at all (: Thanks so much!
