Handmade pianos vs machine made / factory made

I'm curious what's better?

I know a lot of people think that handmade instruments are usually are the best and kind of makes sense.... Obviously, it takes a highly skilled individual, and years of experience to get to a point where you build instruments. I can only assume that through the experience, an instrument maker can understand things about the wood or assembly that a machine can't. 

Obviously, there is a hands-on part of all piano manufacturing, but the other side of the argument is that a factory made piano's parts might be made with much more precision... and surely that might count for something.
